Applicant Tracking System CV's vs Creative Style CV's

Whats the difference between an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Style CV and a Creative Style CV? I offer my clients both options because there are two different ways of applying for jobs.

1. If you're applying for jobs through job boards, portals or careers sections of corporate websites you should use an ATS style CV so that it can be scanned by the "Robots" and flag you as appropriate for the role. This is a simple format, with a regular font that uses the correct titles for each section and is easily understood by a database/computer system.

2. If you're applying for jobs directly to a person, i.e you have their email address. You can use a Creative Style CV to layout your information in an easy to read format which highlights all your relevant points on page 1. These style's of CV really give you the WOW factor and help you stand out from the crowd. You can use colour, images and fancy font to gain the reader's attention.
